TVnet - A Perfect Home Retrofit Solution
TVnet delivers a reliable, secure, and simple-to-install 100Mbps IP network over the coaxial cable that already exists inside a building. The resulting network allows installers to connect a host of Ethernet devices while maintaining compatibility with legacy television service.
In the professional installer's world, what once was a simple TV rewiring installation has now become a network of media servers, security cameras, networked PVRs, Internet gaming consoles, and more. As installation demands increase, it becomes more important for a home, small office, or MDU network to be high-speed and reliable. As people increasingly distribute personalized content, a network's security becomes critical. For all of these reasons, complex IP network installations have, to date, been completed by rewiring the home, office, or MDU with CAT-5 cable. Coaxsys' TVnet, however, delivers high-speed, reliable IP networking over the coaxial cable that already exists. Coax, which already exists near a building's media centers, is the logical medium to carry today's high-bandwidth network traffic.
Best of all, installers can use the TVnet product that works best for each customer. For installers whose customers have cable television, TVnet/C Pro operates in the upper end of the coaxial spectrum. For satellite subscribers, TVnet/S operates in the lower range. And, for customers with IPTV or a run of unutilized coax, either TVnet/C Pro or TVnet/S will provide optimal 100Mbps network performance.
